[2008 TFF] Meeting the First Lady of Israeli Cinema

Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) and Cathay United Bank are co-sponsoring the popular annual street dancing competition again this year. Hit FM will manage the competition and it will start on July 26. On-line registration is available at http://hitoradio.im.tv/activities/20080616mrt/
This is the fourth year the popular activity is taking place. It has built a large following among the teenagers and young people who are interested in street dancing. And if past success is any indication, the competition this year will be fierce, attracting many talented performers.
City Conducts Disaster Prevention Drills

Mayor Hau Lung-bin presided over a comprehensive drill conducted by Taipei City Government and related agencies on May 16. He hoped that the exercises will help the city establish standard operation procedures for dealing with emergencies, allowing staff to know what needs to be done during times of crisis.
Student Volunteers Patrol to Look After City's Rivers

The health of Taipei's rivers received another boost with the formation of new patrol teams comprising of student volunteers from local communities! Mayor Hau Lung-bin saluted the new volunteers during an inauguration ceremony at the Rainbow Bridge Riverside Park.
Celebrating Earth Day: Planting the Trees of Hope

To commemorate Earth Day, Mayor Hau Lung-bin attended a tree-planting session at Gongguan Elementary School on April 22. He planted a “Tree of Hope” with the students and faculties during the event, and signed a declaration on reducing carbon emission.
