On behalf of all our staff, I would like to welcome all visitors to our website (http://www.sdpo.dorts.gov.tw). Our purpose in setting up this website is to provide information on the major activities of the South District Project Office of the Department of Rapid Transit Systems, Taipei City government. We will do our best to keep this website up to date with the latest developments on the rapid transit system. The SDPO is in charge of the construction projects of the Xindian line, Zhonghe line, Xinzhuang line (Taipei City section), and Xinyi line. At present, the Xindian and Zhonghe lines are in operation, and the Xinzhuang and Xinyi lines are under construction.

Introduction
1. The founding of the South District Project Office (SDPO) of the Department of Rapid Transit Systems (DORTS), Taipei City government (TCG) can be traced back to the establishment of the Preparatory Team for the South District Project Office on Apr. 1, 1989. In compliance with the instructions from the Executive Yuan, dated June 20, 1989 to the effect that the South District Project Office should be instituted, the Taipei City government granted its approval for the establishment of the Office effective on July 15, 1989.
